WEYMOUTH
The Heal Write Now writing center at 8 Union St., Weymouth, will hold an open house clebration from 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 3.
All are welcome to see the center, learn about the workshops and decompress after the holidays. Coffee, cider, cookies and coloring will be available.
The mission of the center is to make expressive writing available to everyone in times of joy or sorrow, celebration or transition. Expressive writing is portable, affordable and effective for easing symptoms of toxic or traumatic stress. However, few nonwriters know how easy it is to practice and how beneficial a practice it can be.
Christine Cissy White, who conducts classes and workshops, is a writer, health activist and trauma survivor, as well as a mother and longtime Weymouth resident. Her work has been published in the Boston Globe, Ms. Magazine online. Spirituality & Health magazine and is a regular and popular columnist at Elephant Journal.
The center has several upcoming workshops for the month of January.
