Go anywhere you want with the word and topic. It’s an entrance. You may stray. That’s fine as long as you are writing.

1. Get your pen or keyboard.
2. Give yourself 2, 10 or 20 minutes.
3. Start writing and do not stop to think, edit, spell or worry about grammar. This is you getting in touch with you not writing for the New Yorker.
