Free-Write Friday Night: Less Messy than a Paint Bar – Just as Fun
Shake off the work week and sink into your creative center with other storytellers, word lovers and adventurous spirits. You are invited to blend a coffee house vibe with story and soul sharing via guided writing prompts.
This is ideal for lovers of Moth, TedTalks, Story Slam and Story Corp who can’t get enough of real-life stories.
Dive deep on the page or have fun with sharing your words. You can journey as far in or out of your comfort zone as you wish. And silence is always fine too. No one will be pressured to share.
Everyone will get at least one writing prompt and time and materials to write.
Ten or more people will have time to read/perform their words and to give and get feedback.
This is a safe space for introverts and extroverts. No previous writing skill or ability required. All are welcome.
Enjoy an alcohol-free alternative to the bar scene. Come alone or with loved ones. Try it once or make it part of a local creativity practice.

I’m so glad they spoke to you! Thanks for coming and sharing.
It seems your location for friday’s events is NOT handicapped accessible: “go one flight up”. If I’m mistaken, forgive me. If I am right, you should be ashamed of yourself! How dis-empowering & demeaning to people, how disgusting to hold an event where EVERYONE canNOT go. Thoughtfully change your website/blog info to state if your eventS are, or are not, handicapped accessible. The real Truth is, if you choose non accessible-locations, you are acting ignorant to the law, but worse than that, it shows you are a fake, untrue to what you seem to be advocating.
Dear Sally,
There are seventeen stairs to get to the first floor and no elevator in this old 3-story building. There is another set of stairs to get up to where the larger events are and it is NOT accessible either. It IS a huge problem. I will make this more explicit with a note to the Heal Write Now Center page making this more clear. Getting a space that’s accessible is a priority for me and the first order of business once I have more funds. Either a new space or a way to change the space I’m renting from. Cissy
