Elizabeth:
Thanks for posting. Life can be so challenging, so zig and zaggy, and understanding some of the causes/reasons/context for our suffering can go a long way in helping alleviate it/give us compassion for ourselves and others. That’s my experience anyhow. I like your ideas about creating community and I hope you create a zoom call of support and if you do, please share here. You might also be interested in some of the communities on PACEs Connection though they aren’t super interactive they do share good resources/articles/info.
Warmly,
Cissy

hello I have a 9/10 score also and am AMFT now. In my 50’s and have experienced deep deep sadness and loneliness my whole life. I am also HSP and INFJ and human design reflector. the perfect storm apparently. Somehow I survived and thrived for a while after i divorce my abusive husband. ten years later, not so much. of course the pandemic didnt help. would be great to have a regular zoom with those who responded here. I would TREASURE a group like this! LMK. [email protected]

The institute of burials and cremations did a great module called Understanding Loss and Grief which was hugely enlightening as it recognises that in care of the abuser you are put into the position of having to be a good enough and safe enough caregiver to the very person who was supposed to be that for you but wasn’t. Anger, resentment ad emotional flashbacks are natural response’s especially if you have been holding things together by keeping a lid on your emotions for some time. It may help to plan time to grieve and to express the emotions safely punch a pile of pillows throw stones out to sea or hit a punch bag. Also look out for body armouring which can be really helped by a good physiotherapist.

Dear Ann:
This is an important topic and I knw my friend and former colleague at ACEs Connection, Carey Sipp, also thinks and talks about this subject of money, finances, ACEs, and shame. It’s important! Please do share when you are done, what the title is, etc. and also share on ACEs Connection as lots in that network would be interested!
